Steve Irwin, the Australian known as the “Crocodile Hunter,” died Monday after being stung in a marine accident off Australia’s north coast. Irwin was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest. Irwin was filming an underwater documentary at the time.

He was an inspirational human being and it sickens me that I am already hearing jokes about his death. I can’t even begin to imagine what his family is going through.
