Just landed in Syndey, on a layover before flying to Perth where we start things up. All my guitars were shipped to Austraila after the last gig in NYC, so I’m hot to play again.

The flight over was easy enough. I started watching the film “Deja Vu” starring Denzel Washington. It’s listed as a “mind bender” in the Qantas entertainment guide. I don’t want to give away anything you wouldn’t find on the back of the box, but it’s kind of a time-travel flick. I was having a blast watching it, and just as the most pivotal moment in the movie was taking shape, the screen paused and the Captain (I remember his last name was Gordon. Or maybe Gorton, which would be nice to think of two brothers, one manning the helm of a 747 and the other a fishing boat) came over the PA to advise us, basically, that the party was over. Needless to say I never got to see how the film resolves, which is really stuck in my craw right now because I don’t want to forget the salient details of the movie before I finish it someday.

Now I wish I was in a movie about time travel, except in this movie I travel back in time to stop my past self from deciding to watch the first hour of Dreamgirls so that I can have time to finish Deja Vu. It’s not that Dreamgirls is a terrible movie, it’s just that there’s not enough time traveling in it for my taste. Maybe a breathtaking climax by way of a singing number called “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going (To Hunt Dinosaurs)” would be cool for next time, Hollywood.

Hey John…you definitely want to finish the movie…awesome ending!

Britney can finally go out and celebrate…and doesn’t she look quite happy in the picture above? She was seen having dinner with friends at Bridge in West Hollywood. Earlier, she and Kevin Federline finally reached a divorce settlement. Rumors are that Kevin will receive 1 million dollars and he and Britney will share custody of their two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, 50/50.

I would love for Saturday Night Live to do another spoof of him this week - I’m thinking that they will and do their own take of Sanjaya’s hideous ‘hawk. Did you catch the spoof last Saturday?

I just checked their site and read that they were down for the most part yesterday and they think it was people behind Idol who shut them down. WTF? Seriously now…Here’s their post:

As many people have noticed, VFTW was down for a good portion of the day yesterday. The site started having problems Tuesday due to an increased flow of traffic, but then Wednesday the site went down because of an attack. Someone was obviously threatened enough by the site’s freedom of speech that they wanted to try to shut us down. Of course it didn’t work, and we’re back for now. Who would have done such a thing? Could it have been the people behind Idol? We’re not sure, but anything is possible. Remember, even if the site is down, keep voting for Sanjaya every week, because we’re doing an awesome job and we saved him AGAIN this week. We’re like the little engine that could! Also, you can text VFTW to 27563 to get cell phone updates in case of situations like these as well.

TMZ.com is reporting that a source close to Sanjaya’s family says that those of us at Votefortheworst.com are “jerks” and their message to VFTW is: “Thanks guys, but he doesn’t need your votes.” On the contrary, we think this report is fishy. First of all, a source “close to the family” means it’s not actually his family. We think Sanjaya is smart enough to know any press is good press. And secondly, Sanjaya has been embracing his VFTW-ness recently with fun performances, crazier hairstyles, and more sass. We think Sanjaya’s in on the fun. So to the Malakar family: feel free to contact us, we love Sanjaya and we would love to see him win. The true haters are the people out there who bash him and say he sucks. Wrong. Sanjaya is the best thing to happen to American Idol in years, and we’d love to chat with the Malakars because we love them so much! Shyamali, Momjaya, and anyone else, you can contact us here.

I think all the attention he’s getting from Howard Stern (who obviously is much bigger than VTW) is what is helping Sanjaya’s votes along with all the Crying Ashleys…heh heh. Poor Starving My Space girl..like I said before…she’s going to end up like Nicole Richie.

The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office announced today that Paris was found to be in violation of her terms of probation and could…gasp…face a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail. What is Princess Paris going to do? Remember when she got stopped by police on February 27th, when she was driving with a suspended license because of her previous DUI arrest in September? Yup, that little driving incident could cost her some jail time. Um, where’s her trusty publicist, Elliot Mintz, to make a statement about this? Haven’t seen anything yet. We all know how this is going to play out…she won’t stay a day in jail - although that could be a good episode for “The Simple Life”. Heh.
