ai6424.JPGTonight was all about “songs that inspire” and of course there was major major hype about the “Idol Gives Back” show tomorrow night. It really sounds like it will be an incredible show. Without further adieu, here is my recap:

Chris: He sang “Change the World”. I don’t know…he just didn’t do it for me this week. It sounded a little bit blah for me. Randy said that it was his greatest in a long time, Paula said that it was well done, fantastic, good song choice, Simon said that it was more sexy, better, great vocal.

Melinda: She sang “There Will Come a Day”. Of course, flawless tonight, but I think that because she is one of the older ones up there that is going to be a disadvantage to her - but once again rocks it out every single time. Randy said that she’s got it all together, Paula said that there’s no one like her, she’s magical, Simon said he loves that it wasn’t a copycat performance, vocal master class.

Blake: He sang “Imagine”. One of my all time favorite songs and I thought Blake did an awesome job. He did throw in all of his beat box stuff and for me, I could feel the emotion from him while he sang. Love my Blake! Randy said that it was a great choice, it was all right, just okay, Paula said that this was the first emotional and sensitive song that she has seen from him, and Simon said that it felt sincere but it didn’t go anywhere, he sang it with sincerity.

Lakisha: She sang “I Believe”. Who can forget when Fantasia sang this song? I liked the way Kiki did it and thought she did a great job. Randy said that there were some pitch problems and it wasn’t her best, Paula said that she is a powerhouse vocalist but can’t get over the way Fantasia originally sang it, and Simon said that he still has an issue with her shouting…..whatevahhh.

Phil: He sang “The Change”. I thought it was pretty solid. Not bad at all. Randy said that it was a strong performance again, second week in a row, Paula said that he has found his comfort zone, Simon said “I really like you” and it was a good song choice.

Jordin: She sang “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. They saved the best for last! Our Arizona girl I think is the one to beat. She was very poised up there, and just truly incredible. Randy said that it was the best vocals ever in the history of American Idol (wow!), Paula said that she did a lovely job, glorious, Simon said that it was fantastic and brilliant.

I predict that Chris could be the one going home tomorrow night. We shall see if all of the Votefortheworst fans really do push Phil through.
