Jon Bon Jovi was the mentor to all the Idols tonight and he seemed a little skeptical about a few of them…

Phil: “Blaze of Glory” Ya know, he did pretty well tonight…I thought that country was probably his thang but he pulled this one off. Randy said that it was his best performance, Paula said that it was the best opening we’ve had, Simon said that it was okay, like a bad actor playing a role, he doesn’t think he’s done enough to last another week.

Jordin: “Livin’ On A Prayer” Eh, totally different genre for Jordin. I’m a little worried for her. Randy wasn’t too impressed, Paula gave her kudos for going for it even though it was tough, Simon said that her singing was out of control, on the verge of shrieking, “it was terrible”. Oy, get your fingers a dialin’ for my girl Jordin tonight - everyone is allowed a “bad week”.

Lakisha: “This Ain’t A Love Song” Kiki is back!! The girl was awesome, and she soooo needed it this week. Randy said that she blew it out of the water, Paula said that she gave it somethin’ somethin’, great job, Simon said, “I could kiss you” and Kiki marched down those steps and planted one full on Simon’s lips…soo cute! He was very happy that she rose to the challenge - nailed it.

Blake: “You Give Love a Bad Name” Holy cow, just incredible. I have never in all the performances thus far rewinded my Tivo to watch this performance again. He put his own beatbox spin on it and was awesome! Oh yeah, he dyed his hair black!! Seriously, I am going to hunt his performance down on YouTube and put it on here…Randy said that he gets the award for most original version, “you took a leap and you won”. Paula said that it was amazing, “this was your night”, Simon said that half the audience will love it or half will hate it, it was very brave, he took a massive risk, and it was absolutely the right thing to do. ****EDIT**** Here’s the video of his performance:

Chris: “Wanted Dead or Alive” Not bad, just okay for me. Randy said “it was nice baby, I liked that”. Paula said that he did his thing, Simon said that it wasn’t his style of music and doesn’t know if it’s enough for him to stay another week.

Melinda: “Have a Nice Day” She did not disappoint, no surprise there. Randy said that he liked the Tina Turner attitude she had goin’ on, Paula loved it, and Simon said that he agreed with Randy, she was a young Tina Turner, vocally she is way out of her league than everyone else.

That was it, folks. I think that Phil and Chris risk being booted off tomorrow night. Bon Jovi will be performing as well…gonna be a rockin’ night!
