L’Oreal is in hot water over a recent advertisement featuring their Telescopic Mascara. In the ads, they boasted that you could have lashes that are up to 60 percent longer with their product. In the TV spot, Penelope Cruz is seen applying the Telescopic Mascara and saying, “Lashes that could reach for the stars.”

A woman (what is she, the commercial police?) who saw the ad suspected that Pe was wearing falsies on her lashes and complained to the Advertising Standards Authority. L’Oreal was investigated and they admitted that Pe was wearing some fake individual lashes in the Paris Telescopic Mascara commercial…gasp! Say it isn’t so! Heh.

So long story short, L’Oreal must now add a disclaimer in future advertisements whenever models are wearing the falsies on their lashes. Come on, does anyone really believe that you can buy an over the counter mascara and have beautiful lashes like Penelope’s? Sheesh.

Gap once again is utilizing celebrities for their latest ad campaign for the fall, called Classics Redefined. The campaign features 12 black and white portraits by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz of various celebs sporting wardrobe essentials you’ll need this fall season. In the above photo, John Mayer is wearing a $39.50 sweater vest.

Other celebrities taking part include Sarah Silverman, Lucy Liu, and Ken Watanabe. The photos will start appearing in the September issues of national mags.

The folks over at Madame Tussauds have already prepared their Lindsay Lohan wax figure for jail. What do you think? Do stripes look good on Lilo?

Amy Winehouse is looking nastier by the minute. She’s just a mess…last week she spit on her fans at a concert and even forgot the words to her songs. Her partying lifestyle have certainly caught up with her…just look at the photos - rail thin body and sagging skin. Ewwwww.

Lindsay Lohan’s attorney, Blair Berk, released the following statement regarding Lindsay’s recent arrest:

“Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since leaving Promises rehab facility on July 13, Lohan has been wearing an electronic alcohol-monitoring bracelet on her ankle. She had it on even as she hit parties and nightclubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late [Monday] I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care.”

Give me a break. You know as well as I that she’s probably been drinking this whole freakin’ time and unfortunately for her got busted by the police. Jail time jail time jail time jail time……

Are we surprised by this news? Of course not. Lindsay Lohan was arrested earlier this morning for DUI. She was arrested at 2:15 AM in Santa Monica, California. Cocaine was found on her as well. So, all in all she was charged for DUI, possession of coke, transporting a narcotic into a custodial facility and driving on a suspended license. She posted $25,000 bail.

Jail time is imminent, especially since she was just booked last week for DUI as a result from her Memorial Day smashup. Gah, life is over as you know it, Linds….

Seems Miss Kelly is setting up damage control. She released the following statement about Clive Davis on her website:

“There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of “My December,” much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it’s respect and admiration that will keep us together. A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive. Much of this has been blown way out of proportion and taken out of context. Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time. He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date. He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice. I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with. I am happy that my team is behind me and I look forward to the future.”
