Lindsay Lohan is on the cover of Elle Magazine’s September issue, which will hit the newsstands on Tuesday. She sat down with Elle a mere 36 hours before her arrest in May on suspicion of DUI. As we all know, she entered Promises shortly after arrest #1 and left July 13 after spending 45 days in the program. 11 days later, on July 24th, arrest #2 on suspicion of felony cocaine possesion, misdemeanor DUI, and driving with a suspended license.

Some excerpts from her interview with Elle, and remember, this was before both of her arrests:

Regarding her rehab stint in January:

“I was glad I went, because I needed to get away from everyone. … And I learned a lot there.”

Regarding who takes care of her:

“Jenni (Munro, one of her assistants), my mom and Leslie (Sloane-Zelnick, her publicist).”

Regarding her relationship with Calum Best:

“He’s me in male form. We’re very similar. Stubborn, rebellious, very smart, coy, a little bit narcissistic.”

Regarding whom she thinks she relates to in Hollywood:

“Ann-Margret. Marilyn Monroe. … Marilyn exudes sex appeal. She was such an innocent sort. … That was the tragic side of it.”
