Miss Venezuela, Dayana Mendoza, was crowned Miss Universe 2008 earlier this evening. You can see more pictures and video of her below.
Dayana Mendoza
Dayana Mendoza, who is 22 years old, was an early favorite to win the 2008 Miss Universe crown. The pageant was held in Nha Trang, Vietnam, and was hosted by Jerry Springer and Mel B. This brown hair, green eyed beauty is a model who is signed with the Elite Modeling Agency. She has modeled worldwide for designers like Versace and Roberto Cavalli.
Mendoza won the Miss Venezuela 2007 crown on September 13, 2007. She is only the second woman from the Amazonas state to win the Miss Venezuela title.
Rounding out the Top 5 in the Miss Universe pageant were three of her Latina counterparts - Miss Colombia, Tailana Vargas, who was first runner up, Miss Mexico, Elisa Najera, and Miss Domincan Republic, Marianne Cruz Gonzalez.
