John Edwards finally came clean today and admitted to his affair with Rielle Hunter (aka Lisa Druck), after much speculation that was originally reported by The National Enquirer. Edwards denies that he is the father of her baby girl, Frances Quinn, who was born on February 27, 2008. He claims that the timing of the birth does not align with the affair, which he says ended before he could have been the father.

Edwards met Rielle Hunter at a bar in New York city in 2006. She was later hired by him to produce campaign documentaries for his website even though she had no experience in doing so. She was paid to the tune of $114,000 for her work.

Hunter would travel with Edwards throughout the country during the campaign and went to Africa with him as well.

The National Enquirer reported last month that Rielle saw Edwards at the Beverly Hills Hilton and at the time he had denied visiting her, but today admitted that he did in fact see her.
