Halle Berry thinks that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have “forgotten” about the kids here in America. Halle won’t adopt internationally like Brangelina and would consider adopting a child in the U.S. if she can’t have a child of her own.

“There are lots of children that need a home in America. I feel we have forgotten about our own kids. With Brad and Angelina it’s whatever works for them.”

Do we have a catfight on our hands?

I recently received an email from Alexis Collado, Publicist for PARADE on the story that they ran on Halle Berry in which Halle spoke of a suicide attempt over 10 years ago. Halle has publicly voiced anger over PARADE’s mention of the suicide attempt and Miss Collado emailed me the following statement:

Please take a look at PARADE magazine’s response to some of the recent remarks that Halle Berry has made in the press about her 4/1/07 profile in PARADE.

“All of the quotes in the April 1 PARADE profile on Halle Berry came from a candid sit-down interview between Ms. Berry and PARADE writer Emily Listfield on January 25, 2007. Ms. Berry talked very freely (on tape) about the challenges she has faced in her life, including her failed marriages and suicide attempt. It is unfortunate that Ms. Berry has chosen to respond to media interest by backing away from what she originally told PARADE. Anyone who actually read the article is sure to see it as a very positive profile of a strong woman who has overcome many challenges in her life and is now on a clear path to happiness.”

Halle Berry is very upset over PARADE Magazine’s recent story of her suicide attempt over 10 years ago. She has very seldom spoken about the time she tried to commit suicide over the end of her first marriage to baseball player David Justice, and it is now making world wide front page news. Berry has said that she hopes that the story in PARADE Magazine will help others who are contemplating suicide. She said:

“It wasn’t my wish to go into all of that again in this time of my life. I talked about it on Larry King Live and Oprah when it was relevant, and I felt like it was important to help other women and share it with them. Back in the day, I did feel empowered when I told that story and I felt, ‘This might help somebody because I survived it and I learned a lot.’ But it’s just not where I am today and I really hate that it’s been presented like it is… I’m in such a great time in my life right now it wouldn’t be my wish to really revisit that period, but this outlet did and made it seem as if it were current again. Because I have a movie out some magazine has sensationalized some old material and it’s not something that I want to talk about. It’s 10 years old and I’m so past it.”

I don’t think that it was right that PARADE Magazine had brought up the story of Halle’s suicide attempt, and in fact, I myself had no idea that this had even happened in her life, but I would think that Halle would have received a copy of the story before it was printed, don’t you think? And then I think at that point she would have been able to say, no, I don’t want that printed…yada yada yada..

Halle is currently in Madrid for a promotional tour of the movie, “Perfect Stranger”. The movie opens April 13th.



She recently revealed to PARADE Magazine that she tried to commit suicide after her marriage to former Atlanta Braves right fielder, David Justice went kaput. She told the magazine:

“I was sitting in my car, and I knew the gas was coming when I had an image of my mother finding me. She sacrificed so much for her children, and to end my life would be an incredibly selfish thing to do. It was all about a relationship. My sense of worth was so low. I promised myself I would never be a coward again.”

The issue is out this coming Sunday:
