Seems Miss Kelly is setting up damage control. She released the following statement about Clive Davis on her website:

“There has been quite a bit of controversy surrounding the release of “My December,” much of which has focused on a supposed feud with my record label, in particular, Clive Davis. I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family. Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it’s respect and admiration that will keep us together. A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive. Much of this has been blown way out of proportion and taken out of context. Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time. He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date. He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice. I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with. I am happy that my team is behind me and I look forward to the future.”

I’m sure she had everyone breathing down her neck to make that statement. It’s her freakin’ album. Leave the girl be.

Kelly Clarkson has fired her manager, Jeff Kwatinetz, of The Firm. A source had told US Mag that Kelly just had enough. There was disagreement amongst the songs and direction of her new album, “My December”.

Kelly released the following statement:

“I have been so fortunate to be supported by so many talented people in all corners of the music business. Those guys at the Firm did a good job and I really appreciate everything they did.”

Kelly Clarkson appears in Elle Magazine this month and talks about how she has never been in love.

“I know people probably think I’ve been heartbroken, because of the stuff I’ve sung and written. I love my friends and my family but I have never said the words ‘I love you’ to anyone in a romantic relationship. Ever.”

Wow, she’s never said “I Love You” in a relationship? Hmmmm. She must be waiting for “the one”.

Gah, Clive Davis. Do you think you can lay off of Kelly Clarkson for one second? Page Six is reporting that Davis is pissed because Kelly now has artistic control over her new album and refuses to take any of Clive’s suggestions. Well, he totally dissed her at the finale of American Idol, not even a mention of her upcoming album, “My December“, which comes out next month, and instead promoted Taylor Hicks and Kat McPhee’s latest albums.

Kelly has even refused to renegotiate her deal with RCA, because of her desire to gain artistic control. She reportedly could make millions but instead makes about $250,000 per album. See….this is why I love Kelly Clarkson so much. She is staying true to herself and just because some head honcho wants to be “in control”, she has not wavered. Way to go girl, and I’ll be sure to pick up your newest CD next month.
