Drew Lachey and Samantha Harris

Dancing With The Stars co-host Samantha Harris will return next week after being on maternity leave. Her daughter, Josselyn Sydney Hess was born on Sept. 23. Drew Lachey, season 2 champ with Cheryl Burke, filled in while Samantha was off.

Personally, I enjoyed Drew’s commentary and banter with the stars and dancers. I’ll miss him, but he will be back on the tube as host of another reality TV dance show, Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, which is a six week series that features DWTS judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. He will return to the air as the host of a similar ABC competition, Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, a six-week series that includes DWTS judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. The show will feature amateur performers, and it’s scheduled to air later this season.

Who do you think is a better co-host? Drew Lachey or Samantha Harris?

Eve Plumb “aka” Jan Brady

Say it isn’t so!! Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on the The Brady Bunch, has a new book coming out in 2008 in which she reveals that she had a lesbian fling with her on-screen sister, Eve Plumb, (who played Jan Brady). She also wrote about her struggle with an eating disorder and drug addiction.

“The most explosive comments will be how the then blonde, blue-eyed cutie developed a crush on Eve Plumb, which led to some sexual play,” a source said. “This book will certainly come as a shocker. While Maureen is not a lesbian, she reveals there were some sexual hijinks going on behind the scenes.”

Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!

David Letterman and Oprah Winfrey

This is a show that I will definitely not miss. David Letterman is scheduled to make an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show next month, with Letterman taping the interview on September 10th at Madison Square Garden in New York. Letterman rarely makes appearances on some else’s show.

Letterman has frequently taken jabs at Oprah because of continuous refusal to appear on his show. In 2003, Oprah told “Time Magazine” that she would not appear on Dave’s show because she was “completely uncomfortable” as being the butt of his jokes.

In 2005, Oprah appeared on Dave’s show. She told him:

“I want you to know, it’s really over, whatever you thought was happening.” Letterman responded: “Are you sure it’s over?”

Blake Lewis

American Idol runner up Blake Lewis has signed a record deal with Arista Records in conjunction with 19Recordings, the USA Today reports. The label is managed by American Idol creator Simon Fuller. The album will be released later this year.

Fuller said in a statement:

“Blake is one of the most unique Idol contestants I’ve ever seen. He brought something new to the competition and won fans all over America. I know they’re going to love his first album.”

Blake’s beatboxing skills won over my support, and I was blown away by his cover of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name”. See that video below:

Robin Roberts is all smiles as she returns to work at Good Morning America.

Robin Roberts came back to work at Good Morning America this morning and Diane Sawyer opened the show by saying, “We can’t stop smiling around here this morning.” She welcomed Robin back after just having breast cancer surgery 10 days ago. Robin thanked everyone for their support and well wishes, stating:

“The reaction has been just overwhelming and has been so comforting. I’m not ready to do the chicken dance any time soon. One wing is still under repair. But it feels good to say ‘Good Morning America.’ Thank you, America. Thank you, Jesus. I am so thankful the surgery is behind me. I still have a road ahead of me, but it is a journey that many have taken before me, and they are showing me the way.”

mandy moore HIMYM

I cannot wait for How I Met Your Mother this fall. It is one of my favorite shows. Mandy Moore guest stars as Amy and according to ET Online:

“Ted [played by JOSH RADNOR] is freshly single and on the rebound, and on his first night out, he meets Amy, the ultimate bad decision. She’s the tattooed, vodka-swilling trainwreck that Mandy Moore thankfully never turned into. We can’t wait to see what Mandy does with it.”

Mandy Moore a train wreck? Now that I gotta see!!

Well, well, well. Elizabeth Reaser, who played the part of “Jane Doe” last season on Grey’s Anatomy, will be returning this fall. Exaclty how this is going to play out for Alex, I don’t know, but sources told TV Guide that it was “definitely more than one” episode that she’ll be appearing in. I guess that Emmy nod paid off for her!

Video of Whoopi Goldberg on “The View”

Whoopi Goldberg showed up on “The View” today as Babs announced that she was the new moderator and co-host of the show. What do you think? I personally think she’ll be great. I have always liked her. She will join “The View” permanently the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, September 4th.
