My favorite reality show couple, Trista and Ryan Sutter, welcomed a baby boy yesterday. Maxwell Alston Sutter weighed 5 pounds and 3 ounces and was born at Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colorado, where Trista and Ryan live.

Trista and Ryan met on ABC’s first installment of The Bachelorette. They married in a lavish wedding that was televised in December 2003.

Our hometown girl, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, returned to the Valley last night for a nearly sold out concert with her fellow American Idol contestants. I read some comments online regarding the show last night and evidently the sound system sucked. The American Idol crew didn’t want to use the sound system in the Jobing.com Arena, but instead use their own. Heh, they probably just wanted to mask Sanjaya’s voice….

After we saw Dr. Chase get fired and Dr. Foreman and Dr. Cameron resigning last season, just who is going to come to take their place? Add Olivia Wilde, Kal Penn, Peter Jacobson, and Anne Dudek to the mix (you can see their photos below). They have signed on as recurring roles on “House”. They will all play characters who have been brought in to take their place.

Olivia Wilde will play a doctor called Thirteen (okay, weird), and she will be working closely with House in the upcoming season. She has most recently been seen on “Black Donnellys” and also appeared on “The O.C.“.

Kal Penn co-starred in the hilarious movie “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” and also had a role on “24“.

I swear if one more model gets their own TV show…no, just kidding. Petra Nemcova stars in A Model Life With Petra Nemcova. The show chronicles six girls from around the world as they compete for a modeling contract with Petra guiding them throughout the process. It debuts tonight on the TLC channel, 10 PM EST.

Petra survived the 2004 tsunami, in which her British photographer boyfriend Simon Atlee was killed, and says that because of that experience it has changed her priorities.

“In a great way, it made my life fuller and happier,” she says. “I live much more in the moment than I ever did before.”

She has established the Happy Hearts Fund, and has raised more than $2 million for children that were affected by the tsunami.

Chyler Leigh will be joining the cast of Grey’s Anatomy this fall. Last season ended with her introducing herself as “Lexie Grey” (watch video below). She even had some major chemistry going on with McDreamy himself, Patrick Dempsey, while at Joe’s Bar. Lexie is the half sister of Meredith Grey. How many freakin’ sisters does Mer have? And why can’t Mer and Derek be happy for once? Sheesh.

We’ve all wanted it and now it looks the Sex and the City movie will be forging ahead. TV Guide reported that shooting will begin in September and all four of the sexies are taking part - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall. Break out the cosmos!!

The Desperate Housewives will be getting a new neighbor in the fall - former China Beach star Dana Delany. She was originally tapped to play the role of “Bree” way back when, but she turned the role down several times. She will actually play Bree’s sister, Katherine. According to TV Guide, Katherine is a “conservative Republican with an all-American wholesomeness and a mastery of passive-aggressiveness.” Looks like that is going to be fun to watch!!

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo returned home from their Mexican vacation amidst photos of them all over the blogosphere tanning in the nude. Heh, those are tame compared to reports that the two had some hardcore sex in a jacuzzi while there and were photographed doing the nasty…but alas we’ll never see the pics, since their high powered lawyer sent the word out that if anyone posted photos of his clients in….um….compromising positions they will be sued….

I am so glad that ABC decided torenew one of my favorite shows, “According to Jim”. They have ordered 18 episodes, which will air midseason. Last season, the show averaged a viewership of about 6.6 million, even amidst the show being aired in different time slots. ATJ stars Jim Belushi, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Larry Joe Campbell, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
